Augustus Sage produced medalets or tokens from 1858 to 1860. Several series were made until the third and final series featuring Paul Morphy was minted. Despite Morphy becoming an enormous celebrity following his victorious return from Europe, the token did not sell well and was discontinued. 10-12 are believed to exist today.
